Intended learning outcomes

The course aims to give students a solid understanding of the methods of design and execution of metallic and mixed structures. Once the subject is approved, the student is expected to acquire the following competences:

  1. Be able to decide in which cases you should choose a metallic or mixed structure.
  2. Master the vocabulary and specific terminology of the metallic and mixed structures course based on eurocodes 3 and 4.
  3. Be sensitive to the importance of protection against fire and corrosion in order to guarantee the durability of the works.
  4. Easily integrate into teams linked to the workshop manufacture, as well as monitoring the works of metallic and mixed structures.
  5. Know how to design and verify the safety of sections and metallic and mixed elements based on structural Eurocodes 3 and 4.
